Introducing our new charity partner… Wood Street Mission

At Chetwood Bank, we’re dedicated to forging closer relationships with our local communities. We're committed to supporting worthy causes, and our employees work closely with local charities to help them raise vital funds.

For the past two years, we’ve been proud to support Hope House Children’s Hospices which cares for babies, children and young people with life-threatening conditions in Shropshire, Cheshire, and north and mid Wales.

From April 2026 through to March 2028, we’ve chosen to partner with Wood Street Mission, a children’s charity supporting families on low incomes across Manchester and Salford. The charity provides practical help to meet children’s day-to-day needs and to improve their life chances.

Through their Family Basics programme, they support struggling families with children’s clothes, bedding, baby equipment, toys, and books - all essential for children’s wellbeing and development.

The charity also promotes engagement in education by helping families manage the costs of going to school through SmartStart, and by running Book Roadshows in local schools to encourage reading and improve children’s literacy. In addition, the charity ensures children have presents to open on Christmas Day, helping to make the festive season special for families who need it most.

We’ve already organised a schedule of fundraising activities throughout 2026, including taking part in the National 3 Peaks Challenge in June when a group of intrepid colleagues will push themselves to the limit by attempting to summit the UK’s three highest mountains, all within just 24 hours!
