Certificate of interest
We want to call out that at Chetwood Bank, we don’t provide Certificates of Interest.
As of 6 April 2016, HMRC changed the rules so that savings interest is paid gross, without tax being deducted. As a result, there's no longer a requirement to provide a tax deduction certificate.
We understand that you may need details of the interest you've earned when completing your tax return, particularly at the end of the tax year.
You can view your savings account and stay up to date with your interest at any time through Online Banking. You can also download your transaction history, which includes details of the interest paid on your savings.
To download your transaction history, log in to Online Banking, select your savings account, choose View transaction history, and then select Download.
If you're having difficulty accessing this information online or need additional support, please get in touch and we'll be happy to help.
If you have any questions about your tax obligations relating to savings interest, or need further guidance, please contact HMRC on 0300 200 3300 or visit the HMRC website.
